Event Technical Lead, Audio Visual - Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
About the Role
This position is responsible for intermediate-level setup and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. The Technical Lead reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of intermediate audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
- Comply with all Company security and safety measures.
- Ensure equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
- Provide excellent service and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Lead, mentor, and coach other Technicians on Encore’s Delivering World Class Service philosophy.
- Maintain positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.
- Meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Demonstrate advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.
- Anticipate equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Use equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for setup and strike.
- Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.
- Increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques.
- Work with clients to finalize invoices.
- Work within Encore systems and applications as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2-3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 2-3+ years of audio-visual experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required for positions that may operate Company vehicles.

- Use of high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components, with exposure to heights via lifts and ladders.
- May be asked to work in multiple hotel locations.
- Irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
- Warehouse work may also be required, with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust.
- Warehouse working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $25.92 - $25.93. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and location. Final compensation may include eligibility for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
