About the role

The Office of The Vice President for Research and Economic Development, External Engagement & Support Office is looking for Student Assistants to help with various tasks as needed. Hours can vary according to class schedules, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Event Director with the following duties:
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, decor, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Assist clients with pre-event planning, coordination of event setup, as well as audio-visual technical assistance.
  • May perform duties alone or collaboratively with supervisors and/or event operations staff.
  • Monitor event inventory of equipment, supplies, and furniture.
  • Monitor event space to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University.

Qualifications

  • Must maintain a neat appearance.
  • Must be a team player and willing to help where needed with any project that comes up.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and move banquet tables and chairs as needed.
  • Job requires walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
