Event Staff

About the role

Come join the LAZ Parking family and be a part of our amazing Knoxville Event Staff Team! We are hiring immediately for part-time/event-based hours, with shifts varying based on start and end times of events. The pay rate is $16.00/hr. Please note that no offensive visible tattoos, face tattoos, or excessive facial piercings are allowed.

We offer plenty of events to work throughout the year, including concerts, sports events, comedy shows, wrestling events, and more.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet each customer with courtesy and great customer service.
• Direct vehicular traffic within parking facilities.
• Communicate with event management and traffic control during the event, as well as before and after the event if necessary.
• Drop, move, and pick up parking equipment (cones, barricades, signs, etc.), as required.
• Understand the surroundings and event details to answer questions.
• Accurately distribute tickets (proof of purchase) to each customer.
• Expedite the traffic flow in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to the dress code; Uniform polo tucked in, black professional pants or shorts, and comfortable sneakers in uniform colors.
• Must be able to work outside in any weather condition (rain, snow, wind, heat, etc.) and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Must be able to work the majority of the event season, including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Follow all safety standards.
• Communicate with management, supervisors, and traffic directors.
• Answer customer service questions concerning parking, answer general customer inquiries courteously, professionally, and effectively, and refer questions to the supervisor when applicable.
• Will be expected to take direction from Managers, Supervisors, and emergency responders during emergencies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong customer service experience preferred.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in outdoor/extreme weather conditions is preferred.
• Some positions may require a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Skills

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to work standing up/on feet for extended periods.

Physical Demands

Work in the elements -- heat, wind, snow, rain, etc. Lift, push, and pull at least 15 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift. The physical demands described above must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
