Event Set Up (On-Call)

Status: On call or as needed. Scheduled weekly, with schedules posted three weeks in advance.

About the role

San Diego’s top-rated attraction, the USS Midway Museum, is seeking Event Service Representatives. This position provides the general labor necessary for the set up and tear down of equipment for special events.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and wipe rental equipment furniture
• Quickly and safely load and unload event gear and equipment using lifting equipment
• Physically set up and tear down event equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, stanchions, flooring, umbrellas)
• Assemble furniture and space accessories (e.g., shelving, cabinets)

Requirements

• Reliable and dependable: ability to report to work on time as scheduled
• Demonstrate excellent guest services skills
• A team player; must work well with others
• Prior related experience preferred

Working Conditions

• Work is performed on board an aircraft carrier
• Constant climbing up/down stairs and ladders
• Bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials
• Pull/push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Reach both above and below shoulder height

• Aircraft elevator
• Forklift
• Man lift
• Aircraft tow truck
• Buffer/scrubber
• Pallet jack
• Small power tools and janitorial equipment

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Schedule

• Shifts are typically 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
