Event Security - College Events

About the role

Allied Universal® Event Services is seeking Event Security personnel in Berkeley, CA (open to candidates from surrounding cities). This part-time role offers supplemental income with weekly pay, starting at $24.00 per hour. A California Guard Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Allow appropriate entry into venues by checking tickets, verifying wristbands/badges, and directing traffic.
• Screen guests during entry via bag searches, hand wands, metal detectors, and ID verification.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue assets by monitoring for security breaches at checkpoints.
• Respond to crowd control issues and escort unruly guests when ejections are necessary.
• Follow venue-specific policies, procedures, and regulations for different events.
• Provide a positive guest experience with helpful directions and suggestions to enhance their visit.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Must pass a background investigation and post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test; additional screening may apply if driving a company or customer vehicle.
• Able to use independent judgment and discretion.
• Must be available to work overtime as needed.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
