Event Parking Lot Attendant
Job Summary
The Event Parking Lot Attendant is a temporary position within the Transportation Services Department. This role is responsible for selling event parking, accurately handling cash transactions (with a majority being credit/debit card transactions) and operating cash registers during a variety of events. Attendants assist with parking operations for small to large-scale events, including athletic sporting events, concerts, and high school sports competitions. A qualified candidate will have interpersonal communication skills, be deadline-oriented, and show strong judgment and problem solving skills. This position has the possibility to be extended based on need and/or funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains fee computers
- Assists in the training of new employees
- Informs customers of parking policies and acts courteously
- Assists customers by giving directions, calling for emergencies, and locating vehicles
- Exchanges tickets and cash from customers as they enter or leave facilities
- Ensures safe and doors are locked whenever leaving the booth and at the end of each shift
- Maintains lots by contacting enforcement for the citation or removal of vehicles that are illegally parked
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse audiences
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Compensation
$17.00 hourly. The starting salary is $17.00 and is not negotiable.
