Event Operations Manager

Job Summary

Directs and motivates a team while personally assisting in providing high‑quality service based on requirements and standards. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities, including asset protection. Provides clear and concise communications to everyone involved in the success of the event. Identifies training opportunities and plans a strategy to accomplish goals.

Core Work Activities

• Managing banquet operations: project supply needs (tables, chairs, banquet sets, props), apply knowledge of relevant laws, maintain sanitation levels, manage inventories and equipment, schedule event services staff to meet standards and maximize profits, develop lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.
• Participating in and leading banquet teams: set goals, delegate tasks, conduct monthly department meetings, broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and current event trends, act as liaison to kitchen staff, lead shifts and actively participate in servicing events.
• Ensuring and providing exceptional customer service: set a positive example for guest relations, obtain guest feedback, handle problems and complaints, empower employees, verify expectations, emphasize guest satisfaction, review comment cards and satisfaction results with staff.
• Conducting human resources activities: communicate and execute emergency and safety procedures, observe service behaviors and provide feedback, monitor progress, lead staff discussions, develop and implement corrective action plans, review meeting planner survey results and drive continuous improvement, attend all pertinent meetings.

Candidate Profile

High school diploma or GED required; minimum two years’ experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional area.

Pay

Hourly rate: $26.92 – $33.17. Bonus eligible.

Schedule

Full‑time position.
