Event Facilitator

About the role

As an Event Facilitator, you'll facilitate volunteers through our meal packing experience so it runs smoothly and hosts are satisfied. You'll drive equipment and materials to and from the event in a box truck (no CDL license needed). You will represent Rise Against Hunger with hosting groups and use your outgoing personality and public speaking skills to empower volunteers to join our mission to end hunger, one event at a time!

You'll be working 20 hours per week, with occasional nights and weekends, and starting pay is $24.00/hr.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Event Facilitation (70%): Lead volunteers on packaging procedures, track volunteer registration, facilitate 4-12 events a month, transport raw materials and equipment, and promote at-event donations and volunteer requests
• Warehouse Logistics Coordination (20%): Receive shipments, process documentation, prepare finished products for shipping, and ensure adequate stock of ingredients and equipment
• Partnership Development (10%): Connect organizations to our mission, program promotion, and develop relationships with supporting organizations

About The Team

Our Donor Engagement team leads the charge of recruiting groups who want to host an engaging meal packing experience for their members or employees. We are a team of volunteer coordinators, fundraising and donor relationship professionals with the collective goal of ending world hunger through the communities where we live.

Requirements

• Age 21 years or older
• Proficiency in Google/Microsoft office suite and other cloud-based software
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive a box truck
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting or operating pallet jacks, including frequently lifting up to 50lbs
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings
• Resourcefulness to work in different spaces and environments

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit or stand for long periods, walk, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally roll or move up to 75 pounds and move pallets of up to 2,500 pounds utilizing pallet jacks and lifts.

Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Travel

This position requires extensive local travel of 100%. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
