Evening Custodian - Part-Time

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning procedures including sweeping, mopping floors, dusting, polishing furniture and equipment, cleaning glass at entrance doors, emptying wastebaskets and removing trash, emptying outside trash containers, ensuring a clean, sanitary environment.
• Clean restrooms and restock supplies to meet staff and visitor needs.
• Operate floor machines, burnishers, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Ensure areas are cleaned according to a schedule with minimal disruption to employees and the public.
• Be observant of custodial needs and respond effectively to unexpected changes in work volume, emergency scheduling, or staff revisions.
• Adhere to safety rules for handling and disposing of cleaning agents, including universal precautions and proper use of personal protection equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively with other staff and visitors.
• Work harmoniously with other staff members.
• Follow guidelines for the use of safety equipment when operating power equipment.
• Communicate effectively with other staff and visitors.
• Respond to any cleaning assignments during shifts, including janitorial duties at other County locations.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior custodial experience.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Reach with hands or arms.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
