Evening Babysitter for 5-Year-Old

We are seeking a reliable, fun, and active babysitter for our 5-year-old son in Des Moines, IA. This is a recurring position, twice a week on an ongoing basis.

About the role

The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy spending time with children and engage in activities such as playing outside, going for walks, riding bikes or scooters, crafts, reading, and games. We encourage active and imaginative play with minimal screen time.

Responsibilities

• Engage with our son in play
• Encourage outdoor activities when weather permits
• Feed him dinner (easy-to-prepare meals provided)
• Assist with his evening routine
• Help him get ready for bed and tuck him in by 8 PM
• Light cleanup of items used during dinner and playtime

Requirements

• Dependable, patient, and responsible
• Genuine enjoyment of spending time with children
• Interest in becoming our regular sitter rather than seeking occasional engagements
• Experience with childcare (references if available)

Additional details: two small hypoallergenic dogs are present. Note that the job does not require driving.
