About the Role

The Evelyn Lauder Associate Dean for Nurse Practitioner Programs (Lauder Associate Dean) at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing (HBSON) is a key administrative role reporting directly to the Dean and serving on the School Executive Leadership Team. This position provides visionary leadership in developing and implementing innovative advanced practice nursing graduate programs and curricula, including the groundbreaking Evelyn Lauder Community Care Nurse Practitioner Program.

The Lauder Associate Dean will oversee advanced practice nursing student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, progression, graduation, and advisement; mentor faculty and staff; conduct assessment and outcomes evaluation; and engage with academic practice partners and internal/external stakeholders. In collaboration with the Dean, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Executive Leadership Team, this role will contribute to long-range planning, program review, faculty workload, budget, and ensure accreditation, regulatory, and policy compliance for advanced practice nursing graduate programs.

This is a 12-month administrative position requiring in-person attendance at school, college, and other meetings on campus, as well as other activities advancing the school’s mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing advanced practice nursing graduate programs and curricula.
  • Oversee student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, progression, graduation, and advisement for advanced practice nursing programs.
  • Mentor faculty and staff within the nurse practitioner programs.
  • Conduct assessment and outcomes evaluation for program effectiveness.
  • Engage with academic practice partners and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on long-range planning, program review, faculty workload, and budget management.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and policy requirements for advanced practice nursing programs.
  • Participate in in-person meetings and activities on campus to advance the school’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field; research doctorate preferred. If the earned doctorate is not in nursing, a master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • New York State license as a registered nurse (required upon hire).
  • New York State Nurse Practitioner (NP) Licensure (required upon hire), particularly in Adult/Gerontology, Family, or Psychiatric Mental Health.
  • National Nurse Practitioner Specialty Board Certification (required), particularly in Adult/Gerontology, Family, or Psychiatric Mental Health.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in academic leadership or administrative roles in higher education.
  • Academic teaching and graduate nursing education experience.
  • Accreditation and/or curriculum development experience (beneficial).
  • Nationally recognized expertise in advanced practice nursing and active involvement in professional organizations.
  • Five (5) years of advanced nursing practice experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software systems.

Pay

Salary range: $175,000 - $220,000, commensurate with education and experience.
