About the role

The Evaluation Scientist II is a technical leadership position within our System Evaluation Team. The successful candidate will drive validation and verification projects, ensuring final products meet customer expectations and intended use. This role requires expertise in LC/UV applications, Separation Science, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, and involves close collaboration with Waters R&D organizations, including product management and LC engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of a technical team in creating and executing validation and verification plans to reduce potential errors during product design phases.
  • Drive validation/verification work completion to support the assigned product roadmap.
  • Participate in the review of test plans, summary reports, and other project documents.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chromatographic systems.
  • Prepare test environments, including setting up computers, installing software, and preparing LC systems for use.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to support hardware obsolescence and LC system improvement projects.

Requirements

  • PhD with 0 years, M.Sc. with 1-2 years, or B.Sc. with 2+ years of experience in analytical chemistry or engineering.
  • Experience working in an analytical lab and participating in technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of analytical LC-UV and other chromatographic applications.
  • Experience in chromatographic separations method development (desired).
  • Strong communication and collaborative team-building skills.
  • Proven track record of working in technical teams.

Skills

  • Knowledge and use of Waters products, including LC systems (e.g., Acquity, Arc) and chromatographic data systems (e.g., Empower, MassLynx) (desired).
