About the role
The Brooklyn Waldorf School is seeking a warm and enthusiastic experienced Eurythmy Teacher to join their faculty for during the 2026/27 school year. This role involves providing blocks of eurythmy instruction across multiple levels, from early childhood through grade eight.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive eurythmy lesson plans that align with the Waldorf curriculum and the specific needs of each grade level.
- Create dynamic and engaging movement activities that bring academic content to life, cultivate artistic sensitivity, and enhance students' physical and inner development.
- Evaluate progress of students and prepare student reports to discuss with parents and faculty.
- Oversee student snack, recess, and/or lunch periods as needed for FT equivalency.
- Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and organized learning environment conducive to movement and artistic exploration.
- Incorporate a variety of eurythmy forms, gestures, and spatial dynamics to enhance their understanding of language, music, and other subjects.
- Design and deliver creative and inspiring eurythmy lessons that capture students' imaginations and foster a love of movement.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent relevant experience, knowledge, or skills.
- Eurythmy Training Certification.
- Demonstrated success teaching eurythmy to a range of elementary and/or middle school students.
- Openness to the school's special character.
- Ability to work successfully and positively with children.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques such as Responsive Classroom preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, including during mandatory weekly faculty meetings.
- Participation in schoolwide events, such as Winter Fair and Open Houses, as well as Professional Development Days.
- Sense of humour; patience and flexibility.
