ETL Site Reliability Engineer
About the role
The ETL Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of data pipelines and integrations within a hybrid cloud environment. This role requires a deep understanding of observability, data engineering, and SRE principles.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and troubleshoot horizontal data movement across SAAS, hybrid, on-prem environments.
- Implement and maintain observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, and Prometheus.
- Develop and manage ETL processes to ensure data quality and lineage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust data integration solutions.
- Support vendor-driven changes and ensure continuous observability coverage.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Mandatory skills as listed above.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Strong understanding of microservices, API integrations, and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, SRE, or similar roles.
Skills
- Observability engineering (metrics/logs/traces, tooling like. Grafana/Splunk/OTel/Prometheus).
- Data engineering visibility (ETL, lineage, data movement monitoring).
- SRE principles (incident response, RCA, automation, reliability).
- Hybrid/SaaS/on-prem integration monitoring.
- Vendor-driven change management.
- Strong experience with observability tools (Grafana / Splunk / Prometheus).
- Familiarity with distributed tracing (Appd / OpenTelemetry).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and automation (ansible).
- ETL and Integration experience.
- Strong understanding of data lineage, data quality, multi step integration orchestration.
- Familiarity with microservices, API integrations, event driven architecture, Kafka/MQ.
- Cloud and Platform engineering (OpenShift, Kubernetes, containerized environments).
- Strong knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks.
