ETL Lead – Microsoft Fabric
About The Role
As an ETL Lead – Microsoft Fabric, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale data integration and analytics solutions. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, product owners, and global delivery teams to build scalable, high-performing data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of ETL/ELT solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines for batch and incremental data processing.
- Build and enhance Microsoft Fabric components, including Data Factory Pipelines, Notebooks, Dataflows, Warehouses, Delta Tables, and API-based ingestion frameworks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to define data integration requirements and deliver enterprise solutions.
- Establish and maintain data quality, lineage, auditing, reconciliation, monitoring, and performance optimization processes.
- Review ETL designs, code, and deployment strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
- Support CI/CD, DevOps, release management, testing, and production deployment activities.
- Lead issue resolution, root cause analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production support efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading ETL/ELT development and data integration initiatives in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory Pipelines, Warehouses, Notebooks, Dataflows, Delta Tables, and data ingestion frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of Azure data services and modern cloud-based data architectures.
- Experience with source-to-target mapping, data profiling, data validation, and data quality management.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills with the ability to optimize complex data processing workloads.
- Experience supporting DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and automated deployments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and distributed delivery teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis capabilities.
Qualifications
- Expertise in implementing data governance, lineage, observability, and monitoring frameworks.
- Experience migrating legacy ETL platforms to Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based data ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and modern data engineering best practices.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric certifications.
Skills

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $115,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is an onsite position requiring 5 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Charlotte, NC. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements.
