Estimator (Utilities/ Heavy Civil)

About the Role

A growing heavy civil and infrastructure construction company is seeking a Civil Estimator with experience in Utilities and Heavy Civil Projects. The position involves quantity take-offs, cost analysis, interaction and solicitation of subcontractors, and utilization of estimating software including Agtek, HCSS, and Bluebeam. The ideal candidate will have expertise in utility, civil, and earthwork scopes, and will prepare cost estimates while interacting with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and others.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
• Solicit and interact with subcontractors.
• Utilize estimating software such as Agtek, HCSS, and Bluebeam.
• Prepare cost estimates for utility, civil, and earthwork scopes.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
• Understanding of construction practices, techniques, and equipment.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office and Bluebeam.
• Experience with estimating software is a plus.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Ability to work in a team and promote teamwork.
• 4-5 years of estimating experience.
• Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Raleigh, NC 27606.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree related to Construction Management, Estimating, or Engineering (preferred but not mandatory).
• Knowledge of local municipal construction standards and NCDOT standards (a plus).
