Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
- Develop complete and accurate bid proposals for Structural Steel projects.
- Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
- Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals.
- Use specialized software including Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Negotiate and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to secure advantageous terms.
- Stay updated with the latest techniques and materials in the construction industry and adjust the estimation process accordingly.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects during the construction process to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimation in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using Estimating Software, Fabsuite, Fabtrol, Tekla EPM, and AISC.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent mathematical skills with an analytical mindset.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of the latest cutting-edge technologies in the construction industry.
- Professional certification in estimating or a related field would be a plus.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
