We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator for Structural Steel to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in our construction projects, preparing accurate estimates for jobs by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
  • Develop complete and accurate bid proposals for Structural Steel projects.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
  • Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals.
  • Use specialized software including Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Negotiate and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to secure advantageous terms.
  • Stay updated with the latest techniques and materials in the construction industry and adjust the estimation process accordingly.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects during the construction process to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimation in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using Estimating Software, Fabsuite, Fabtrol, Tekla EPM, and AISC.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent mathematical skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of the latest cutting-edge technologies in the construction industry.
  • Professional certification in estimating or a related field would be a plus.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
