About the role

The Estimator II supports sales and projects staff in developing basic designs, engineering solutions, and keeping estimates accurate. They assist in sales and project activities, act as a liaison, and provide accurate takeoffs and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete project engineering, selection of applicable materials, and estimating labor.
  • Write scope of work and develop cost estimate in response to bid specifications.
  • Help ensure all estimators meet requirements and track to complete on time.
  • Act as liaison between sales, project management, and operations during project turn-over for installation.
  • Monitor sales price and actual installation costs to ensure they coincide.
  • Follow company guidelines on vendor selection and product acquisition.
  • Work with vendors to obtain best solutions, competitive prices, and proper lead-time on materials.
  • Ensure all estimating work meets customer and company quality and safety levels.
  • Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements.
  • Meet bid schedules and deadlines, working within strict timeframes.
  • Attend and complete job turnover meetings to cover all details and expectations of the project.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Prominent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, effective reading, writing, and oral presentation abilities.
  • Proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and project documents.
  • Able to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects/estimates and maintain high organizational skills.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one (3) years of experience in customer interface.
  • Industry certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Understanding of technology industry.
  • Meet company minimum driving standards.
  • Design, engineer, estimate, and develop written and graphic representations of company’s proposed solutions using provided software resources.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge: Pivot Table, Text to Column, Drop Down Lists, Excel Table, Advanced Formulas.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word knowledge: Organize Content Using Tables and Charts, Customize Formats Using Styles and Themes, Use Templates to Automate Document Formatting, Simplify and Manage Long Documents.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Outlook knowledge: Categorize Messages, Print Calendars, Use Different Views, Create Rules.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Teams: Create Meetings, Call Team Members, Understand Screen Sharing, Understand Team Channels.
  • Intermediate Bluebeam knowledge: Export PDFs to Word or Excel format, Add a Custom Profile, Add a Page to a Document, Create a Layer, Understand Spaces, Understand Contract Language, Communicate Skills: Public Speaking.

  • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, able to help create, develop, and implement project process improvement(s).
  • Must promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization.

Min USD $60,000.00/Yr. Max USD $110,000.00/Yr.
