What You’ll Get to Do
- Perform detailed take-offs for aluminum and related hardware using digital tools like Bluebeam, Revu, or similar.
- Develop comprehensive bill of materials (BOM) for complex projects, including curtainwalls, storefronts, and specialty entrance systems.
- Review architectural specifications (Division 08) to ensure the selected product systems meet or exceed thermal, structural, and aesthetic requirements.
- Calculate total project costs, including raw materials, manufacturing labor, and necessary components.
- Compile and submit professional bid packages and formal quotations to glazing contractors and general contractors.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to provide value engineering (VE) options and alternate solutions to secure project wins.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of estimating experience specifically within the commercial glazing or architectural metal industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural blueprints and technical shop drawings.
- Software Skills: Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for digital take-offs and strong in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis.
- Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of glazing systems, including curtainwall pressure plate systems, thermally broken storefronts, and glass performance data.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical details clearly to customers and internal production teams.
Position Pay Range
Starting at $65,000 USD, with potential for negotiation based on experience and performance.
