Estimator II – Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze technical plans/specifications and assist team by incorporating those requirements in the estimate
• Produce reliable, complete, consistent, well-documented, and timely quantity surveys of assigned items
• Generate design development estimates, providing quantities and components based on incomplete plans and specifications. Assist in the development of complete project quantities based upon schematic level plans and elevations
• Conduct organized sub and vendor solicitation while accurately communicating the required scope of work
• Ensure complete trade coverage is obtained and advise project lead of potential solicitation shortfalls
• Assist in the preparation of bid-day spreadsheets and detailed proposal tabulation sheets (Bid Tickets), including any custom client cost breakdown/schedule of values
• Assist in projecting pricing based on historical data and adjusting pricing as needed to allow for project conditions
• Review trade proposals and scope letters as received to identify gaps and overlaps in scope of work
• Prepare the final estimate for rollover to the job cost accounting system, adjusted to meet project team's needs for cost management
• Prepare cost analysis reports and be mindful of value analysis opportunities throughout the estimating process

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry
• Experience with mechanical estimates is highly preferred
• Degree in a construction-related field is desired

• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam is a plus
