Estimator - Heavy Civil

About the role

A leading site contractor in Carver, MA is seeking a motivated full-time Estimator with strong expertise in the underground utility and sitework industry. Compensation is based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to fully understand project scope and requirements related to cost estimation
• Accurately estimate plan/spec and design-build site development, underground utility, and road building projects
• Solicit vendor and subcontractor quotations and review for scope compliance
• Prepare detailed estimates by performing complete takeoffs for site development and underground utility projects
• Attend pre-bid meetings as required
• Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Conduct site visits and surveys to validate scope and incorporate into estimates
• Review estimate details with management prior to proposal submission
• Manage preconstruction RFIs for assigned projects
• Participate in project turnover meetings with the project management team

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Strong expertise in sitework and underground utilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam or Adobe
• Experience with estimating software such as In-Site or B2W is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
