Estimator (design-build MEP)

About the role

We are seeking an MEP Estimator to join our team supporting our Rochester operations. This role is a backfill for a retiring team member and offers the opportunity for cross-training and knowledge transfer. You will focus on pure estimating within commercial mechanical systems, working across sheet metal, piping, and plumbing scopes. This individual will play a key role in both executing estimates and helping elevate the overall estimating function. You will report directly to the Chief Estimator and collaborate across offices on a variety of project types.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial MEP projects (sheet metal, piping, plumbing)
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support bid strategy
• Participate in multi-office estimating efforts as needed
• Mentor and support junior estimators
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools

Requirements

• 2+ years of pure estimating experience within commercial MEP environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (sheet metal, piping, plumbing)
• Experience working on projects ranging from several million to $100M
• Background in a commercial mechanical contractor environment (preferred over GC estimating)
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices
• Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset

$70,000 - $115,000 per year
