Estimator - Commercial Projects - NoVA

About the role

Our client is looking for a Mid level Estimator out of the Loudon County area to work on new construction projects across K-12, municipal, and commercial projects.

My client is a fast-growing general contractor based in Gainesville, VA, specializing in K-12, municipal, and new construction projects across the DMV. Since opening its doors 80 years ago, the company has experienced significant growth and expanding its team to nearly 50 employees. Known for its entrepreneurial culture, hands-on leadership, and strong track record with public and institutional clients like local counties and healthcare agencies, this is a firm where driven professionals can grow, lead, and make a real impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead all preconstruction activities including take-offs, cost estimation, and value engineering
• Create and manage project budgets, bid strategies, and preliminary schedules
• Collaborate with project management to ensure seamless project handoff
• Review architectural and MEP drawings to ensure accuracy in estimates
• Lead subcontractor outreach and competitive bid analysis
• Interface directly with clients, design teams, and trade partners

Requirements

• 5-7 years of estimating experience
• Background with Commercial, institutional, and K-12 construction
• Deep understanding of construction trades and materials
• Strong knowledge of take-offs, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and estimating software
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)

Pay

Base Salary: $100k+ (depending on experience)
