Estimator Commercial Drywall

About the role

A detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator is sought to join our Pre-Construction team. This is an in-office position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate, competitive bids for drywall projects.
• Create written proposals, incorporating all project requirements, scope of work, and cost estimates.
• Maintain an understanding of local labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure accurate estimates.
• Keep up-to-date with cost trends and market conditions.
• Ensure all estimates comply with local, city, and state building codes for each assigned location.
• Manage and mentor project engineers and assistant estimators, providing support and guidance to help them develop professionally.
• Continuously improve and expand knowledge of all product lines, including drywall, acoustical systems, doors/frames/hardware (Div 8), and specialties (Div 10).
• Collaborate with Pre-Construction Teams to work closely with other members of the pre-construction team, ensuring smooth project handover and accurate budgeting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Estimator, or 5-7 years of overall relevant experience.
• Previous experience in commercial drywall estimation is highly preferred.
• Bonus: Experience with construction management software, such as BuilderTrend or Procore, is a plus.
