Responsibilities
- Manage the estimating process for multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring accurate and timely estimates.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, including quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor costs, and equipment expenses.
- Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure the most cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate estimating data and pricing databases by monitoring and tracking industry trends, market conditions, and material costs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and contribute to their professional development.
- Collaborate with the project management team during the construction phase to address any estimating-related issues or changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator, with a proven track record in successfully estimating commercial projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Texas.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with construction estimating software.
- Knowledge of contract negotiations and bidding processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
