Responsibilities

  • Manage the estimating process for multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring accurate and timely estimates.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, including quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor costs, and equipment expenses.
  • Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate estimating data and pricing databases by monitoring and tracking industry trends, market conditions, and material costs.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and contribute to their professional development.
  • Collaborate with the project management team during the construction phase to address any estimating-related issues or changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator, with a proven track record in successfully estimating commercial projects.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Texas.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with construction estimating software.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiations and bidding processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
