Estimator

Position Description

Physically measure and diagram job sites for the purpose of providing a quote to our customer for labor and material required to complete the job in a professionally workmanship manner. Provide written and oral information to the customer, sales person, purchasing team, scheduler, and installer containing clear and concise information as to all the details associated with the job. When in customer's homes, assist in closing sale and collecting deposits.

Generalized Work Activities

• Schedule and manage time to complete all estimates within desired time frame.
• Communicate with supervisors, customers, and co-workers.
• Solve customer or coordination issues on site.
• Analyse data or information and present factual descriptions of projects or issues.
• Supervise and perform comprehensive project evaluation to ensure that all aspects of the job are included in the estimate.
• Update and use relevant knowledge to maximize effective installation as these relate to flooring and the construction trades.

Required Knowledge

• Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the installation of all flooring products.
• Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models and work instructions.
• Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, as it applies to this position.
• Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services.
• Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, labor processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective installation as these relate to flooring and the construction trades.

Education And Training

• Occupational: Flooring installation, estimation, or construction supervision experience required.
• Must be proficient with prints, construction techniques, flooring types and applications.
• Educational/Training Level: Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, CAD, emailing) required.
