Estimator

About the role

JSG is seeking an Estimator for a direct hire, onsite position with a large and well-established commercial electrical contractor client in the greater Dallas area. Recent Electrical Estimating experience with on-screen take-off experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Chief Estimator and be responsible for multiple systems on Technical, Health Care or Industrial projects.
• Lead fully engineered estimates up to $5M.
• Understand the concepts and process of conceptual estimates and budgets up to $1M.
• Review the scope specified within the proposal and ensure estimates include appropriate scope.
• Develop detailed cost estimates and proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions; actively assist the project team toward the answers.
• Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes.
• Proficient with estimating software.
• Working knowledge of McCormick and Bluebeam.
• Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Review Estimate take-offs.
• Understanding and familiarity with NEC.
• Mentoring Estimator Trainees & Estimator 1 staff.

Requirements

• 4-year Construction/Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related career experience.
• 2 or more years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor.
• 1+ years recent Electrical Estimating experience with on-screen take-off experience preferred.
• Computer literate and able to quickly master and apply department’s computer systems and software.

Pay

$75k - $120k
