About the role

We are seeking an Estimator or Restoration PM to join our Construction Advisory team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to extend beyond traditional engineering and technical consulting. The role involves creating repair and restoration estimates, performing inspections, and providing expert opinions—including potential testimony—as a third-party cost consultant. You will support clients such as attorneys, architects, engineers, general contractors, developers, and owners, working directly with our Construction Advisory Leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for commercial projects, including residential, multifamily, mixed-use, commercial office, sports & recreation, public safety, industrial, institutional corrections facilities, and healthcare.
• Create estimate models from conceptual and/or construction documents, leveraging experience with construction projects to infer repair concepts and develop cost models.
• Develop project delivery-specific cost models covering:
  • Project indirect costs
  • General requirements
  • General conditions
  • Contractor staffing and other project execution team-related costs
  • Contingencies, fees, and allowances reflective of project specifics
• Maintain and document the flow of project information to qualify ongoing cost opinions.
• Utilize network and industry resources to keep updated records on labor rates, subcontractors, suppliers, and periodic unit cost indexing for accuracy.
• Understand construction methods, productivity, equipment, building systems, and materials.
• Break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
• Meet deadlines and manage time efficiently for both personal and team efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with 7–10 years of accumulated technical experience in a construction-related field.
• Minimum of 5 years as a construction cost estimator.
• Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs used in estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Strong organization and communication skills.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $110,000–$150,000. The offered salary is based on factors including skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
