Estimator

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and evaluate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents provided by customers.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) power projects, including quantities, man-hours, and costs for all project components.
• Work with in-house engineering and procurement teams to solicit, obtain, and evaluate meaningful vendor and subcontractor pricing for estimate inputs.
• Develop and foster relationships with key subcontractors.
• Evaluate bidding risks and strategies, present estimates, and participate in bid reviews with the business development department and senior management.
• Contribute to the proposal effort through drafting of clarifications, review of proposal drafts, and completion of customer pricing forms.
• Attend and actively participate in proposal and estimate review meetings with senior management.
• Work with the procurement department to maintain accurate and timely commodity cost databases.
• Perform various internal analyses and studies to find better solutions and maximize bid accuracy.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of construction experience and 2 years of estimating experience, preferably in heavy industrial or power plant construction.
• Experience may include a combination of cost estimating, project management, proposal writing, scheduling, and procurement.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong quantitative aptitude and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work productively both independently and when collaborating with others.
