Estimator

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects in sectors including healthcare, commercial, aviation, education, hospitality, industrial, and manufacturing.
• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs, bid proposals, and budgets.
• Partner with Field Operations Leaders to analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to assess scope and risks, refine estimates, and adjust project schedules.
• Utilize cost history and other resources to develop scope, pricing, schedule, and logistics.
• Partner with internal and external teams to accurately complete quantity surveys of materials and resources to successfully complete the project.
• Collaborate with trade partners to obtain pricing and ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
• Assist with project operation activities, such as trade partner coordination, project documentation, and cost tracking.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners to grow the company’s brand and business.
• Represent the company professionally in design meetings, preconstruction reviews, interviews, and industry events.
• Participate in design coordination, scope reviews, and client meetings to maintain alignment on budget, schedule, and logistics.
• Collaborate with project leaders to document challenges and opportunities for future estimates.
• Continuously develop industry knowledge using available resources, trade journals, and community groups.
• Partner with internal teams to refine and improve preconstruction processes and handoff.

Requirements

• 2+ years of estimating experience for a commercial construction general contractor.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and trade partner scopes.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to accurately read RFPs and develop appropriate action items and coordination.
• Ability to prepare an accurate preconstruction budget and track time against it.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Prior experience estimating commercial construction projects as an Estimator, Senior Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, or Project Manager.
