Estimator

About the role

Act as the liaison between ASSA ABLOY and our customers. Review technical drawings and blueprints, prepare estimates and quotes utilizing existing pricing information related to doors, frames, hardware preparations, shipping, production or project problems, and assist with field inspections.

• Prepare quotes and estimates while considering product capabilities and limitations.
• Verify technical drawings and blueprints for accuracy, manufacturability, specification requirements, and coordination of hardware.
• Communicate with customers on the status of the project, discrepancies, project delays, etc.
• Interpret templates, review quotes for elevations, and input into the system for quoting.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.
• Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Comply with federal, state, local, and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year estimating experience, preferably in the hollow metal door openings industry; direct customer and contractor contact desired.
• General understanding of the construction industry; exposure to the commercial construction industry would be a plus.
• Exposure to building codes and labeling requirements would be a plus.
• Previous exposure to reading blueprints, shop drawings, or engineering drawings desired.

Skills

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• High comfort level balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Exposure to an Order Management platform or an ERP system desired.
