Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and submit competitive bids to General Contractors (GCs) for construction and refurbishments.
- Perform detailed cost estimating, quantity take-offs and value engineering analysis for construction scopes of work.
- Led the bid leveling process and manage the award process together with headquarters.
- Track project costs against approved budgets; monitor change orders, cost overruns and variances, and report findings to management.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms and contract conditions with manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain a manufacturer and vendor database; develop preferred-vendor relationships to secure favorable pricing, lead times and contract terms.
- Provide estimating and quoting for the Maintenance Department’s purchase requests and vendor proposals.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of bids, purchase orders, vendor contracts and pricing agreements.
- Collaborate with the Construction, Maintenance and Accounting teams to align procurement strategy with project and operational needs.
- Monitor market pricing trends and material costs to keep estimates competitive and accurate.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating, cost control or procurement (retail construction experience preferred).
- Experience preparing and leveling GC bids and reviewing construction contracts.
- Prior experience negotiating with vendors, manufacturers or subcontractors.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with estimating or cost-control software is a plus.
- Must be able to read construction and shop drawings.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; comfortable managing multiple bids and quotes simultaneously.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced/entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Qualifications
- Professional college degree (engineering or construction management preferred).
- 4 years of work experience in construction.

Pay
