Responsibilities

• Oversight of the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
• Identifying potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and proposing solutions.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that estimates align with project requirements.
• Managing the bid process, including the preparation and submission of bid proposals.
• Working closely with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.
• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing and terms.
• Ensuring that all bids are competitive and meet the company’s profitability targets.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for clients regarding estimating-related inquiries.
• Presenting estimates and bid proposals to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
• Addressing any client concerns or questions related to estimates and bids.
• Demonstrating expertise in various technology skills (iSqFt, On Screen, Takeoff, Blubeam and Sage Estimating).
• Demonstrating an understanding of industry standards (CSI, Master Format, BOD).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience (including co-op and internships).
• Skilled computer and AutoCAD skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (ex. Bluebeam, Sage Estimating).
• Ability to work non-traditional hours.
