Estimating Coordinator

About the role

The Estimator reports to the Divisional Director, Contact Sales and is based in Landover, MD. This full-time, hybrid role is pivotal in preparing detailed foodservice equipment estimates and bid proposals, ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of TriMark's bids.

Responsibilities

• Request, receive, and review foodservice equipment bid packages to initiate the estimating process.
• Compile estimates and prepare detailed bid proposals with clarity and precision.
• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to evaluate bid opportunities and assess alignment with TriMark’s capabilities.
• Analyze drawings and construction documents to prepare comprehensive estimates covering time, cost, materials, and labor.
• Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors, reviewing submissions for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Follow up promptly on submitted bids to enhance success rates.
• Upon contract receipt, review the scope of work and schedule, coordinating with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Contract Administrator.
• Assist with vendor negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and company personnel.
• Research and address questions to ensure estimate and proposal accuracy.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate efficient bidding.
• Contribute to TriMark’s growth by increasing bid win percentage, bid revenue, and gross profit annually.
• Build relationships with General Contractors, Consultants, and Architects to establish a robust book of business.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in a Project Management or Estimating role within the Construction industry, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
• 1–2 years of Project Management or Estimating experience in the Construction industry.
• Experience in the Foodservice industry is preferred.
• Must complete CFSP Test within the first 3 years of employment.
• OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety & Health Certification is preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check post-offer.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Bluebeam, Unifier, and JD Edwards is preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
• Knowledge of construction specification documents, including document flow, submittals, RFI/RFP processes, and addendums.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and written specifications.
