About the role

As an Educator at Be Aveda Institutes, you play a vital role in shaping the student learning experience and preparing students for successful careers in the beauty industry. Educators are responsible for delivering curriculum, mentoring students, and creating a positive learning environment that supports both technical skill development and professional growth. Through hands-on coaching, classroom instruction, and consistent evaluation, you help ensure students graduate with the knowledge, confidence, and professionalism expected of the Aveda brand. Your leadership in both the classroom and clinic floor directly impacts student success and reinforces the high standards associated with Aveda education.

Responsibilities

  • Educate students in accordance with Aveda Institute standards. Following the Aveda storyboard and curriculum ensures consistency across the student educational experience and reinforces the integrity of the program.
  • Evaluate students’ technical performance through weekly student game planning. Individual game planning allows educators to create targeted actions for each student, helping them develop their technical skills and confidence.
  • Provide coaching in the moment to elevate students’ skills and professionalism. A positive learning environment requires hands-on coaching and real-time feedback to support the growth and development of each student.
  • Facilitate classroom education, including participation in collaborative learning. Actively walking the classroom or clinic floor creates opportunities to educate, mentor, and reinforce techniques that strengthen student skillsets.
  • Meet benchmarks for SPST and RPST performance metrics. Consistently following the Aveda Service Cycle ensures key educational and service metrics are met and serves as a measurable indicator of effective education within both the classroom and clinic environments.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage expenses within fiscal guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings.

Dress Code Expectations

  • All black, professional attire that reflects the Aveda brand.
  • Maintain clean, styled hair, subtle makeup, and professional grooming. Remember – we are in the beauty industry, we must hold ourselves to a high standard that reflects such.
  • Nametag must be worn at all times and should remain clean.

Attendance Expectations

  • Arrive on time, ready to contribute to a seamless guest and student experience.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and communicate proactively for any absences – see call out protocol.

Training & Growth Opportunities

  • Initial onboarding will include training modules covering Aveda Guest Service Cycle, product knowledge, booking systems, retail sales techniques, and leadership expectations.
  • Ongoing development includes leadership training and retail performance management.
  • Opportunities to advance include Institute Director, Regional Training roles, Corporate operations roles.

Requirements

  • 2+ years Esthiology experience.
  • Full Specialty License in Florida.
  • Passionate about learning and teaching.
  • Strong presentation & communications skills.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends.

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
