About the role
Within our Campus department, we are currently looking for a new Estates Assistant to join us. Working as part of a team, our Estates Assistants provide a professional front of house service that ensures all visitors receive a warm and professional welcome to our sites. You will also work with other University departments to ensure our facilities are accessible, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities
- Work in different buildings across our estate, undertaking a broad range of responsibilities including general reception duties, delivering, sorting, and collecting of post, checking room bookings, and fire compliance testing.
- Complete general manual handling tasks such as setting up rooms for meetings or events, removing rubbish where appropriate, and ensuring building entrances and steps are clear and tidy.
- Deal with a wide range of enquiries from University staff, students, and members of the public, providing efficient and accurate help and advice in a friendly, calm, and welcoming manner.
- Provide a positive experience to everyone you encounter as the 'face' of the University.
Requirements
- Previous experience from within a customer-focused environment.
- A positive, helpful, and caring attitude.
- Good IT skills including comfort using Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to be polite, welcoming, and empathetic to all.

Pay and Schedule
- Salary: £23,742 - £24,685 per annum pro rata.
- Contract type: Open ended.
- Work pattern: Part time - 16 hours.
- Shift Pattern: Term time only (Sept - May).
- Saturday: 07:30 - 16:30.
- Sunday: 09:30 - 16:30.
- Grade: C.
