Estate Wine Guide (Part-Time)

About the role

The Part-Time Wine Guide plays a crucial role in ensuring each guest enjoys a memorable and educational experience at JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery. This position involves multiple responsibilities including pouring wine, managing tours, assisting in the dining room, and working closely with the chef team.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable guest experiences
• Support all daily activities related to Tasting Room operations, including general stocking and cleaning, tours, weekend lounge execution, outreach, and cooperation with all departments
• Achieve financial goals, including: Tasting Room and Wine Society Lounge wine sales, Tasting Room merchandise and food sales, Tour program signups, Wine Society signup goals
• Perform monitoring and stocking duties as assigned
• Ensure the tasting room is tidy at all times (e.g., refolding t-shirts as necessary)
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas, including: Tasting Room, Tasting Room Office, Garage, and Warehouse
• Resolve guest concerns and complaints using good judgment and tact; escalate issues to management when necessary
• Stay informed on all new JUSTIN releases, including library wines, viticulture, and winemaking techniques

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant, tasting room, or wine service environment
• Strong preference for candidates with serving, waitstaff, table management, or wine guide experience
• Passion for the wine industry
• Proven ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members at all levels
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail are essential
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Ability to perform basic calculations such as adding, subtracting, and dividing
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Must complete the JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery education program upon hire
• High School Diploma or GED required

Pay

$16.90 - $17.50 plus tips. Final compensation is dependent upon skills and experience.
