Responsibilities

  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents including wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives
  • Manage estate and trust administration matters from inception through completion
  • Advise fiduciaries regarding trust and estate administration
  • Prepare and review probate filings and related court documents
  • Counsel clients regarding estate planning strategies and wealth preservation
  • Assist clients with estate settlement and trust administration issues
  • Communicate directly with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals
  • Conduct legal research related to estate planning, fiduciary matters, and taxation
  • Maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and responsiveness
  • Handle sophisticated estate planning matters with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active state bar license (Maryland preferred; waiver/reciprocity may be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing Trusts & Estates law
  • Strong experience with estate and trust administration
  • Significant drafting experience involving sophisticated estate planning documents
  • Experience advising fiduciaries and administering estates
  • Strong understanding of probate and trust administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage matters while working collaboratively within a team

Qualifications

  • LL.M. in Taxation is a strong plus

Pay

$135,000 - $185,000 per year

Schedule

1,650 annual billable hour target
