ESS/ACAS Software Management SME

This position supports a 24/7/365 operation and requires shift availability. Candidates must be willing and able to work an assigned day, evening, or midnight/overnight shift, with assignments varying based on staffing needs and mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement ESS migration/compliance strategy
• Troubleshoot ESS product issues and outages
• Administer ePO tree structure management
• Administer policy catalog management
• Provide queue management, product deployment, and analysis as required
• Provide SME‑level support for the ESS fleet centralization
• Test, monitor, and work with ESS Support Admins on Navy‑provided TTPs/SOPs
• Provide oversight and guidance to ESS Support Admins
• Review ESS threat events
• Refine server tasks and policies as needed (tagging, ASCI, tree structure, etc.)

Requirements

• Active and current U.S. Government‑issued Secret security clearance
• Knowledge and experience with the McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention System
• Knowledge and experience with McAfee ePO (ePolicy Orchestrator)
• Knowledge and experience with firewalls (desired)
• Knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) (desired)
• Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems
• On‑site support required daily in the Suffolk, VA area (not a remote position)

Qualifications

• Security+ certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is based on contract wage rates, labor categories, geographic location, professional experience, technical expertise, education, certifications, and overall alignment with the role’s requirements. Salary range: $50,000‑$60,000 per year.
