ESL Lead Instructors Part-Time 2026-2027

Qualifications

• A candidate must be a NJ State Licensed teacher in an academic area at elementary or secondary level.
• A valid NJ State DOE Supervisor Certificate is preferred but not required.
• ESL Teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Terms Of Employment

• Availability for the duration of the program from September 2026 to June 2027.
• Option #1: Saturday morning assignment from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
• Option #2: Evening assignment two nights per week 5:30 to 9 pm.

Responsibilities

• This is a grant-funded program that provides free instruction and practice in English for students (16 and older) who wish to improve reading, speaking, writing, and listening skills.
• Supervise and assist instructors who have direct responsibility for teaching assigned classes.
• Facilitate communication to staff and students.
• Provide technical assistance as needed.
• Provide any and all information required by the Program Specialist/Coordinator for reports, etc.
• Input data into the LACES system (training provided).
• Facilitate registration of students which includes pre and post testing.

Compensation

• $40.00 per hour.
• No benefits.
