About the role

Teaching Assistant (ESL Level 2) works under limited on-site supervision of a certified teacher serving as district program coordinator. The role supports English Language Learners (ELL) in acquiring English, administers English language proficiency assessments, and uses prescribed teaching strategies and materials from monthly training meetings to prepare individualized lessons and activities.

Responsibilities

• Administers English proficiency assessments to measure student progress.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans to reinforce learning concepts.
• Participates in meetings and professional workshops (e.g., teaching strategies, instructional materials) to convey and receive information for performing instructional program functions.
• Prepares lessons and materials to provide individualized instruction for assigned students.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements

• Age 16 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay

$18.74 per hour.

Schedule

5.7 hours per day.
