ESG & Sustainability Compliance Specialist
The ESG & Sustainability Compliance Specialist is responsible for directly assisting the Assistant General Counsel in the development and execution of the organization's sustainability vision, strategy, and programs. This role drives sustainability initiatives, ensures compliance with relevant ESG regulations and reporting requirements, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives to align with the enterprise strategy.
- Track and analyze ESG data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainable practices.
- Manage and coordinate data gathering across the enterprise for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculations and coordinate the reporting thereof to applicable consultants, designated portals, software platforms, or directly to regulatory bodies.
- Complete all ESG-related questionnaires and surveys, including annual CDP and EcoVadis surveys, and all surveys or questionnaires submitted via internal WRF.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB) a plus.
- 3-5+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or a related compliance field.
- Experience with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, and/or EcoVadis preferred.
- Experience with GHG emissions tracking and reporting preferred; prior experience in a corporate or legal/compliance environment a plus.
- Special certifications: LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB.
Skills
- Strong understanding of ESG regulations, reporting standards, and sustainability best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to professionally present complex information to executive and legal audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence without direct authority.
- Proficiency with BI Analytics/Reporting Tools, ESG frameworks, ethics oversight, program management, and program development.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000/year to $90,000/year, with adjustments made to comply with all state and local minimum wage requirements.
