About the role

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate for an ES&H Representative / Safety Professional opportunity in Aiken, SC for their Projects Group.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide full-time onsite ES&H oversight whenever construction or field work is being performed to ensure compliance with project safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable Federal, State, Local, DOE, and company standards. - Participate in daily pre-job briefings to review planned work activities, identify hazards, verify appropriate controls, and promote safe work execution. - Review work packages, conduct field walkdowns, perform workplace observations, and evaluate work activities to identify and mitigate safety risks. - Serve as the primary ES&H point of contact for project personnel regarding safety concerns, incidents, injuries, and emergency response activities, ensuring appropriate actions are taken in accordance with project procedures. - Provide technical safety guidance and support to field operations on industrial construction activities, applying sound safety principles and industry best practices. - Monitor field activities to identify hazardous conditions affecting personnel, property, the environment, or the public, and recommend corrective actions. - Support compliance with Safety & Health programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while fostering a strong safety culture across the project. - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with project management, craft personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Required Qualifications

- Five (5) or more years of Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) experience supporting industrial construction or heavy industrial projects. - OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Training and/or professional certification (STS, OHST, CHST, ASP, CSP, GSP). - Demonstrated experience providing field safety oversight on active construction projects. - Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and the ability to interpret and enforce safety requirements in the field. - Strong understanding of industrial safety principles, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and mitigation practices. - Experience conducting field inspections, work package reviews, pre-job briefings, and safety observations. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. - Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended hours as required to support project activities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification. - Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, or other Federal industrial construction projects. - Working knowledge of Savannah River Site processes and procedures.
