Job Responsibilities

The ES Eligibility Specialist determines eligibility for SNAP and TANF applications and reapplications by collecting, verifying and processing information received from the interviewing center and/or client within required time frames. Documents all information needed for processing electronically. Sends CHIP notices to client(s) and/or occasionally interviews client(s) to request any additional information needed to process pending cases.

Maintains electronic case files (into agency designated system) accurately and timely for documentation and auditing purposes; safeguard confidentiality of files and information in files.

Identifies and documents overpayment(s) and makes possible claim referrals to Investigate Claims unit as directed; prepares summaries and supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.

Provides services in accordance to agency policy and procedure.

Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, fathered, shared and disposed.

To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.

Participates in training and supervisory meetings or staffings as required.

Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • High School Diploma and relevant program experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree may be submitted for the required program experience.
