About the role
The Executive Response Team (ERT) is a core component of the embedded Executive Protection Services (EPS) Program, established in 1995. To support expanded 24/7 operations at the client’s global headquarters in Redmond, Washington, the program is introducing an ERT Agent (Hybrid) assignment with additional responsibilities beyond the scope of the existing ERT Agent role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support executive protection operations for assigned client site and covered executives
- Staff assigned security posts
- Act as an advance agent, security driver, or support agent for executive security operations
- Respond, observe, report, and/or intervene as appropriate to situations which may compromise the safety and security of designated client personnel and assets
- Provide surveillance detection / protective surveillance for security operations
- Contacting persons of interest and conducting field interviews
- Provide static and roving security coverage for headquarters campus and immediate area in a way that is professional, courteous, and in compliance with established policies and procedures
- Support client HR functions as requested (i.e. security assisted investigations, removal of access, and security assisted terminations)
- Clear, concise, and professional communication with all stakeholders
- Communicate with and support the functions of the EPS Executive Security Operations Center (ESOC), MSGS Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), and HQ Campus Security team as required
- Cook up with stakeholders regarding assigned projects and services to help mitigate risk and/or impact to Team and client security operations
- Maintain critical relationships inside and outside the organization to support Team security operations
- As required, provide full cross-functional coverage for the EPS Executive Security Operations Center (ESOC), including access control, alarm monitoring, camera monitoring, badge traces, incident coordination/ command/ control, etc.
- Participate in development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
- Aid in the development and implementation of SOPs
- Aid in the development of a streamlined incident reporting and activity log, and remain diligent in maintaining an accurate record
- Contribute working groups and special projects teams as necessary
- Evaluate the present and future security environment to better understand risk vectors, security requirements, course of action development, and mitigation strategies
- Routine problem solving and tasking
- Participate and contribute to team and client meetings as required
- Safeguard sensitive and confidential information regarding Inter-Con and the client
- Adhere to the client’s and Inter-Con Security’s policies and procedures
- Maintain an appropriate level of physical fitness
- Participate in scheduled skills-sustainment training, drills, scenarios, and activities as required
- Routine training includes executive protection firearms, defensive tactics, tactical medicine, emergency medical responder, security driving / motorcade operations, active threat response, and team tactics
- Agents are paid for all scheduled training hours and events
- Research, plan, and document security advances and routes of travel
- Provide briefings and written reports to Team and Client leadership as required
- Record and document events and incidents, including but not limited to production of After Action Reports (AARs), recording of task completions and key performance indicators (KPIs), and expense and receipt reconciliation
- Coordinate notifications to client representatives, including client executives and senior leadership (C-Suite / SLT), executive staff, and client directors and managers of the Executive Protection Unit (EPU), as appropriate
- Document intelligence reports and observations
Qualifications
- Extensive military, corporate security, protective operations, or law enforcement experience, preferably in a military special operations branch
- Strong base knowledge in all facets of protective operations
- Strong emotional intelligence and a customer-focused mindset
- All required licenses and certifications, including but not limited to Washington State Guard Card with CJTC Armed Guard endorsement
- Washington Concealed Pistol License (or HR218/LEOSA credential)
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Exceptional integrity, character, judgement, and trustworthiness with a proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical ability, with a focus on conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation
- High level of physical fitness and personal appearance
- Ability to legally possess a firearm
- Ability to pass an extensive criminal background check on a recurring basis
- Strong handgun proficiency, including ability to pass Washington CJTC armed guard qualification on a biannual basis
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required and/or 2:2:3 Panama schedule
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
Preferred Attributes
- Direct experience working with C-Suite executives, board members, or equivalent with a strong understanding of corporate culture
- Extensive military, corporate security, protective operations, or law enforcement experience, with honorable discharge, if applicable
- Graduate of a recognized public or private-sector executive protection academy
- Advanced medical experience (EMT, First Responder, 18D, Paramedic, Navy Corpsman)
- Leadership and management experience
- Advanced understanding of technology-based protective applications
