ERP Upgrade Program Manager / PMO Lead – Retail ERP

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced ERP Upgrade Program Manager / PMO Lead to lead a large‑scale enterprise ERP upgrade and transformation program. The role will provide end‑to‑end program governance, planning, PMO leadership, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, risk management, testing oversight, cutover planning, and delivery management across multiple technology and business workstreams. Experience with NCR Retalix is a plus, but experience with other major ERP platforms is also welcome. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record leading large‑scale ERP upgrades, implementations, migrations, or major ERP transformations, particularly within supply chain, food & beverage, automotive, retail, grocery, or other operationally complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall program governance, PMO processes, steering committee meetings, decision management, and executive communications.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, deliverables, and resource plans.
- Coordinate multiple business and technology workstreams across operations, finance, supply chain, merchandising, IT, and external partners.
- Manage program‑level RAID logs, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, actions, and escalations.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, status reports, milestone tracking, and program health assessments.
- Manage system integrators, ERP vendors, implementation partners, and third‑party providers; track vendor commitments, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and escalations.
- Oversee SIT, UAT, regression testing, deployment readiness, cutover, go‑live, and hypercare.
- Coordinate business readiness, communications, training, process documentation, and stakeholder adoption.
- Track program budgets, forecasts, resource allocation, vendor spend, and financial performance.
- Lead post‑go‑live stabilization, issue resolution, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, ERP capabilities, technology delivery, and program milestones.
- Provide clear communication to senior leadership regarding progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of total professional experience.
- 4–5+ years in Program Management, Project Management, PMO, or closely related delivery roles.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience leading large‑scale ERP upgrades, implementations, migrations, or major ERP transformation programs.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, cross‑functional teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Strong experience with program governance, executive reporting, RAID management, resource planning, budgeting, and risk/issue management.
- Strong understanding of the ERP delivery lifecycle, including requirements/planning, implementation or upgrade, SIT, UAT, regression testing, deployment readiness, cutover, go‑live, and hypercare/stabilization.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex dependencies, competing priorities, risks, and deadlines.
- ERP experience: NCR Retalix preferred but not required; experience with any major ERP platform such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, NetSuite, Epicor, IFS, or others is acceptable.
- Preferred industry experience: supply chain, food & beverage, grocery, retail, convenience, automotive, manufacturing, healthcare; experience in multi‑site, multi‑location, store, distribution, or operationally complex environments is a plus.
