ERP Application Developer
Consider joining the MX Holdings family as an ERP Application Developer in one of our company locations: St. Louis, MO, Leetonia, OH, or Wellsville, PA. This role supports our manufacturing division, Pennex, and requires eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
About the role
As a hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Developer, you will develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and deploy D365 extensions using X++. You will collaborate closely with business users, IT, and leadership to understand operational needs and deliver practical, reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support customizations and extensions in Microsoft D365 using X++.
- Design and implement D365 extensions using Microsoft-supported patterns, including extension-based development, event handlers, Chain of Command, forms, tables, classes, data entities, security, and integrations.
- Support the full SDLC: requirements gathering, technical design, development, unit testing, code review, documentation, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Manage and support D365 build, release, deployment, and environment management activities in coordination with IT and business stakeholders.
- Work closely with business users to understand manufacturing, finance, supply chain, inventory, purchasing, production, and related business processes.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions that are stable, supportable, and aligned with D365 best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
- Maintain existing D365 customizations and extensions written by internal or external developers.
- Assist with integrations between D365 and other enterprise systems, including APIs, data entities, batch jobs, file-based integrations, and reporting/data platforms.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment notes, support documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Participate in planning, prioritization, estimation, and communication for D365-related development work.
- Use modern development practices, including source control, branching, code review, testing, DevOps pipelines, and release management.
- Leverage AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, documentation, analysis, troubleshooting, and software development quality.
- Assist Business Analysts and Application Architects in updating documentation to reflect software applications as deployed to production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience with X++ development in D365.
- Experience with D365 in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience with D365 build, deployment, environment management, and release processes.
- Current use of AI tools in a professional software development or technical delivery role.
- Experience using source control and modern development practices.
- Experience using Visual Studio.
- Experience with reporting or analytics related to D365, including Power BI, Electronic Reporting, SSRS, BYOD, Data Lake, Fabric, or similar platforms.
- Experience with MVC or MVP design pattern for web applications.

Preferred Technical Skills
- Intermediate or better X++ skills.
- Experience with CodeX or Claude Code.
- Ability to manage each stage of D365 code change deployment.
- MSFT Power Platform skills.
- Ability to properly utilize source code control tools.
- Advanced T-SQL skills.
- Intermediate or better C# skills.
- Experience with reporting or analytics related to D365, including Power BI, Electronic Reporting, SSRS, BYOD, Data Lake, Fabric, or similar platforms.
- Intermediate or better JavaScript skills.
- Basic T-SQL skills.
- Familiarity with WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).

Pay
Salary range: USD $105,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year.
