ER Unit Secretary Nights 7 PM to 7 AM
About the Role
Perform clerical and administrative tasks ranging from admitting patients to scheduling appointments. Efficiently work as a receptionist, greeting patients and family members, answering telephones, sending faxes, making copies, and ordering office and medical supplies for the assigned unit.
Manage patient records in an electronic health records system by entering data, updating records, and retrieving information based on requests from physicians or nurses. Handle patient orders and coordinate procedures such as X-rays, blood tests, and imaging with other departments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as unit secretaries interact with physicians, nurses, patients, vendors, and various hospital departments. Keeping patients informed and satisfied with their hospital experience is crucial. Ability to multi-task in high-stress situations is required.
Requirements
- High School graduate or G.E.D.
- Ability to learn on-the-job computer skills
