About the role
The Emergency Services Technician position offers an excellent opportunity to support patient care and administrative tasks. This role involves assisting in providing direct patient care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and collaborating with the team to improve care quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by healthcare practitioners
- Engage critical thinking skills to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Utilize nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
- Collaborate with the team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or successful completion of EMT Training Course
- MA-P or EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire
- CNA, NA-R, or EMT will be required to obtain MA-P within a specified date as determined by location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations does not require the MA-PC
- Current BLS Certification
- Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three (3) years preferred

Good Samaritan Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care facility located in Puyallup, serving the needs of the Puyallup and East Pierce County communities. It offers a wide range of services including a Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma and Neonatal ICUs, and a 24-hour Emergency Department.

Pay and Benefits
