About the role

Join Norton Healthcare as an Emergency Room (ER) Tech and start a healthcare career designed with you in mind. This role provides basic patient care under the direction of licensed nursing and/or physician staff, performing direct and indirect diagnostic, therapeutic, administrative, and service tasks to facilitate safe, quality patient care and smooth unit operations. This position applies knowledge of patient growth and development in interactions with patients and families, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs. Norton West Louisville Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility opened in November 2024, offers comprehensive services including a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient care, operating rooms, and imaging technology for both adults and children. The hospital is designed with community input to advance health equity and transform care for generations.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene activities such as bathing, grooming, and skin care.
• Support patient mobility, including ambulation, transfers, and repositioning.
• Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment to promote safety and infection prevention.
• Notify clinical staff of any changes in a patient’s condition or safety concerns.
• Apply infection control concepts and techniques in daily tasks.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions, activities, behaviors, and safety concerns using computerized documentation systems.
• Perform vital signs checks, phlebotomy (blood draws), and glucose checks.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not mandatory.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is a plus.
• Passion for patient care and community health.
